Intake Requirements

There are many circumstances that lead dog owners to contact St Francis Farm in hopes of finding their dog a new home. While we wish we could help every single one of them, our space is limited. As well as our staffs' time and our resources.

Our mission is to provide quality of life to each animal that lives here, whether that is for a few weeks or for the rest of their life. Therefore, with the thousands of surrender requests we receive, we are just not able to accept them all.

With our current residents and staffing situation, our intake is currently CLOSED.

To ensure we are doing the best thing for our sanctuary, and your dog, when reviewing surrender requests you will be asked to complete a survey and send us current pictures of your dog. This will help us in determining if we will accept your dog.

To help off set some of the costs of caring for a surrendered dog an Intake Fee of $5,000 is required if we choose to accept your dog. Along with a Monthly Sponsorship Fee of $100. The intake fee must be in hand before we can accept your dog. The dog's sponsorship page will also be sent to you to set up your monthly sponsorship before the dog is brought to the farm. If an approved adopter adopts the dog, or they are sent to our training partner, you will be informed and would be able to stop monthly sponsorship payments at that time if you wish.
Note - Sending a donation to the farm without approval of surrender does not guarantee your dog a spot at the farm! We will inform you if we will accept your dog before any money changes hand.

For us to even consider accepting your dog, they must be up-to-date, including but not limited to the following:

  • Heart worm prevention
  • Flea and tick prevention
  • Must have had a recent fecal
  • Current on all vaccinations, including distemper and rabies
  • Spayed/Neutered

If we choose to accept your dog, the dog's medical records must be in hand at the farm before we can accept your dog.

If we choose to accept your dog, a date will be agreed upon for you to bring your dog to the farm. We cannot come to you to get your dog.
